Free Online Bible Colleges: FAQ

I want to be more educated about theology, but affording to go back to college is out of the question… Are there tuition free online bible colleges for someone like me?

There absolutely are; you don’t need a big check to study the Bible.  If you feel called to study God’s Word, whether you want to be a minister, an active layperson, a counselor, or simply want to further your own education, there is a path open to you in tuition free online bible colleges.

These colleges are non-profit organizations which have a mission–to provide a tuition-free way for those who wish to follow their hearts and study the Word, but could not without an option that didn’t require high payments.

How do free online bible colleges stay in business?

In part, these schools are able to offer their services free of charge because they have developed a highly specialized type of curriculum that allows you to study on your own, at your own pace; in many cases you even grade your own exams and papers.  Some are affiliated with parent universities that offer seminary and ordination programs that do charge, but in turn support their free, online associated college.  And of course, donations from the faithful who wish to support a ministry devoted to education.

What’s the catch?

Unless the school itself is a scam, there is no catch to free online bible colleges and their programs.  All materials are free, being digitally transmitted via your Internet connection.  Their courses are designed to be self-serve; they’re developed by educators who make them as user-friendly as possible, so that funds for teaching staff can be minimized by the Church, which means no tuition for you to pay.

Are these schools accredited?

Some are; some aren’t.  Investigate a school’s accreditation to be sure that your certificate of completion is suitable for your goals.
